You’re Not Failing: you’re carrying too much

There are days when it feels like you can’t keep up.

Like everything is bigger than you.
Like no matter what you do, it’s never enough.

And quietly, a thought shows up:
“I’m failing.”

But that’s not always true.

Carrying more than what’s human is exhausting

When you look honestly at what you’re holding, there’s often:

  • multiple roles with no pause

  • constant decision-making

  • your emotions and everyone else’s

  • little to no real support

That’s not lack of ability.
That’s overload.

No one can carry that much without getting tired.

Self-judgment hides the context

Instead of seeing the full weight of what you do,
many parents focus only on the outcome.

That’s when:

  • comparison creeps in

  • inner criticism gets louder

  • the feeling of never doing enough grows

But context matters.
A lot.

You’re not responding from comfort.
You’re responding from effort.

Validation isn’t giving up

Saying “this is a lot” isn’t quitting.
It’s telling the truth.

Validation:

  • eases internal pressure

  • allows your nervous system to settle

  • creates space for care

It doesn’t stop you.
It supports you.

A gentle closing

You’re not failing.
You’re carrying more than is reasonable.

Noticing that
is also a form of strength.

Tomorrow, we’ll close the week with something essential:
caring for yourself is also part of parenting.

I’m here with you. 🌿
